Our Campaigns

Make Belmont safer

Belmont Community Group is campaigning for a 24 hour police station in Belmont. Many residents are scared in their own homes and crimes are not being responded to fast enough. We need a stronger police presence in our suburbs and quicker police response times.

Please email your support for a 24hr police station to cassie@belmontcommunity.com.au.

Save Racing @ Ascot

The Belmont Community Group is campaigning to stop the closure of the historic Ascot Racecourse and the sale of the TAB. Racing has been conducted at Ascot since 1848 and the sale of the TAB will harm the local industry.

Farmers Market

Members of the Belmont community have expressed interest in establishing a Farmers Market in the area to provide fresh and nutritious food from WA growers with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and locally grown, organic produce.

After an overwhelming positive response from the community seeking feedback on the idea of a Farmers Market, a steering committee has been established to progress the market.  If you would like to be involved please email cassie@belmontcommunity.com.au.

Keep Belmont in Belmont Campaign Now Closed

Belmont Community Group is opposed to the forced amalgamation of our Council with Kalamunda. The current amalgamation proposal is illogical and will likely result in higher rates. The amalgamation proposal will jeopardise our unique community identity and assets.

BCG will continue to campaign for a poll so that residents can have their say on this important issue. The ‘Keep Belmont in Belmont’ campaign is our number one priority and we’d love to have you on board – to assist the campaign email cassie@belmontcommunity.com.au.
